תאור: Discussion of the central role of climate anomalies in the decline and collapse of societies throughout history and - despite that - of the extremely scarce reference to the factor of climate in the humanistic studies. In order to understand this disregard or diffidence, the book traces the courses of climate science and social sciences throughout the last century. It then calls for a new approach combining humanistic and experimental research and moves on to illustrate it by juxtaposing medieval and ancient chronicles with data drawn from modern climate studies. In conclusion the book makes the case that only such hybrid approach would enable us to prepare for the future impact of climate change
